linky did work but when I tried to fix the mis-spelled name, it stopped working.

luckily Mistress Allyson was able to save the day

Once you make the syndication feed, you can't change it.

What you can do is write the LJ folks and they'll change it for you.

I've had to do that when a feed changes url.
